Yannick de Waal plays a part in the British series THE STATE, which will be broadcast by Channel 4 in August. The four part drama is directed by Peter Kosminsky, who previously directed the award winning Wolf Hall. THE STATE tells the story of a group of young British men who travel to Syria to join Islamic State. Yannick plays a young Dutchman who has journeyed to Syria with the same purpose and calls himself Abu Abbas Al-Hollandi. Check out the trailer:

Mijke de Jong has been awarded the Fritz Gerlich Prize for her feature film LAYLA M, which was written by Jan Eilander and written and directed by De Jong. De Jong received the award last night at the Munich Film Festival:
